Pleasant Hill offers legal clinic for seniors

Contra Costa Senior Legal Services (CCSLS) will hold a helpful course in August at the Pleasant Hill Senior Center.

The CCSLS will be teaming up with the CSAA Insurance Group’s Legal Division to create a class for seniors. The program will cover why older individuals should get an Advance Health Care Directive. The clinic allows attendees to create the document for free to ensure their health care wishes are known and considered. The group offers both a virtual and in-person method for meeting and discussing Advance Health Care Directives.

The CCSLS has been helping those who are 60 and older for over 40 years. The organization protects the rights of senior citizens by offering free legal services and educational presentations. Members of the group advise and represent the elderly on issues like consumer protection, eviction defense, and elder abuse. People can support the CCSLS by donating to its website. Organizations like this can promote their legal services to others through poster printing.

The clinic will be held on Tuesday, August 10th and will begin at 1:30 pm. The program is free to everyone, and no registration is mandatory to attend. Those interested in scheduling a meeting held via the phone can call (925) 609-7900. Discussions on the phone will take place between 1:30 pm and 4:30 pm. Additional resources for senior citizens can be found on the CCSLS website.
