Each year, monarch butterflies join the other insects and birds that make their migration from their northern homes to their residences in the south, and an activity planned for the Monterey area will bid them a warm welcome.
Monarch butterflies make their summer homes in the northern USA and Canada, and in the fall, the ones in the west make their way to California.
Pacific Grove is one of their gathering spots, and the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History will be hosting “Monarch Madness” as one of its Science Saturday sessions.
To help the public learn more about butterflies, there will be an assortment of activities on offer. Details will be shared about the migration routes and their life cycles, and everyone can get some close up looks at these long-distance Flyers.
Other pollinators will also be in the mix, and guests are encouraged to come dressed up as their favorite species of butterfly if they wish.
One of the roles of a natural history museum is to educate the public and help them to become environmental stewards in their own lives. A brochure printing company can put together packages of information that offer tips and advice on doing so.
This salute to monarch butterflies and their annual migration will begin at 10:00am on November 25, and admission will be free for the day.Get a Free Quote for Flyers
