Monterey runners limbering up for upcoming race

While the temperatures outside tend to drop in November, there are plenty of ways for Monterey residents to enjoy the great outdoors. One opportunity involves an upcoming race that offers an ideal way to witness the nearby coastline.

The 2025 Monterey Bay Half Marathon is being held in early November, and plenty of runners have already confirmed that they will be attending. This race stretches for just over 13 miles along the coast, and relatively flat elevations make it ideal for runners who might not have a significant amount of prior experience.

Some notable locations that will be experienced along the way include downtown Monterey, Ocean View Boulevard, Cannery Row, and Asilomar. This race will need to be completed in 3.5 hours, and s equates to roughly 16 minutes per mile.

Race officials will rely on several proven methods to keep runners, and the public, informed. These include banner printing, flyer distribution, and advertising in fitness-related locations such as a local gym.

The 2025 Monterey Bay Half Marathon is being held on two days: Saturday, November 8th, and Sunday, November 9th. The race will commence at 6:50 AM on both days, and it is set to conclude at 10:30 AM. Participants are asked to meet at Del Monte Avenue at Camino El Estero in advance. Tickets are currently priced at $129, although this may be subject to change based on availability.
