Special exhibition opens at Lancaster art museum
A new exhibit called “Uncovering Existence: Selections from the Museum’s Permanent Collection” is now open at the Lancaster Museum of Art and History (MOAH). This is being presented in collaboration with MOAH:CEDAR. Highlighted in the exhibit are new additions and recent acquisitions to the permanent collection of the museum.
Such unique exhibits are often promoted throughout a city with poster printing.
There is a wide range of artistic methods and media displayed in this exhibit and includes sculptures, photography, ceramics, and paintings which the museum has acquired over the past 30 years. It represents the work of 35 different artists are various stages in their artistic careers such as Katherine Stocking-Lopez, Christopher Rusell, Mahtab Mohammadi, and Lanise Howard, in addition to the winner of the 2024 All-Media Juried Exhibition, Francis Robateau.
The installation piece of Robateau, “Methods of Erasure, 2023,” is used to guide the work in the exhibit which explores themes of identity and erasure through artistic conceptual frameworks and techniques. The exhibit highlights the broad spectrum of pieces and artists in the permanent collection of MOAH and addresses themes of personal history, identity, and memory.
MOAH:CEDAR works with the Museum to engage a varied audience through dynamic programs, innovative artists, and appealing exhibitions. The Museum is open from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
The exhibit runs through Sunday March 16.
