Certification bestowed on Lancaster police department
The California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) has certified the Lancaster Police Department.
This means that the LPD becomes a certified agency, and has met the rigorous hiring, operational, and training standards determined by the state to ensure that law enforcements is effective, ethical, and professional. This certification is a testament to the ongoing commitment of the city to community trust, accountability, and public safety, and a major milestone for the department.
News of such certifications and milestones can be made known throughout the community with flyer printing and other printing services.
Cutting-edge technology is being used by the LPD in its Intelligence and Crime Center, which use tools such as drones and ShotSpotter. The advanced artificial intelligence capabilities of ShotSpotter enable the exact location of gunfire to be determined in seconds, and are able to distinguish between other loud noises and the real sound of gunfire. This technology provides officers with situational awareness in real-time to get help more quickly to those in need, while also helping to reduce false alarms.
Mayor R. Rex Parris said that POST certification takes the department’s service up a level, and ensures the best standards of training for LPD officers. He added that it demonstrates a dedication to building a department that reflects the highest standards of modern policing.
