Police department in Lancaster has new home
The city of Lancaster has a new headquarters for its Police Department.
The new station includes many state-of-the-art technologies such as drone assisted operations, ShotSpotter, and advanced surveillance systems. Chief of Police Rodrick Armalin said that these technologies enable the department to better ensure the safety of the residents of Lancaster.
There is also a cutting-edge training center in the new station so that officers have continuous professional development in both innovative and traditional policing techniques. It offers opportunities for training collaborations in the region, and will help officers stay at the forefront of public safety. Officers can train in real-world scenarios with such equipment as a lifelike LED simulator.
The new police station also offers community spaces so that residents can engage with police officers. The police department plans to offer educational programs, safety initiatives, and outreach events. Local print shops can help spread the word about such events and new facilities with flyers, brochures, and other printed materials.
The Lancaster Police Department (LPD) partners with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) to ensure that both local and larger-scale issues are handled quickly and effectively. This enables the LPD to leverage the expertise and resources of the LASD while continuing to focus on problem solving and building trust within the community, while also keeping it safe.
