Marvin Crist, Vice Mayor of Lancaster, has been appointed as chairman of the board of directors of the North County Transportation Coalition (NCTC).

Crist has been a major supporter of initiatives related to transportation and has been recognized in the Antelope Valley for his extensive work. He was named Citizen of the Year in 2020 by the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and California Transportation Champion of the Year in 2021. He is currently Chairman of the Antelope Valley Transit Authority and Chair of the Antelope Valley Air Quality Management District.
Crist expressed his honor in being appointed as the Chairman of the North County Transportation Coalition. He is looking forward to working with the collation to create better experiences in transportation for those who live in the northern part of Los Angeles County.
The NCTC is an alliance of the county and three cities, and is dedicated to coordinating planning for transportation in the region, as well as building an efficient and safe mobility network in North Los Angeles County. Arthur Sohikian, executive director of the NCTC, expressed his excitement about Crist leading the collation. Sohikian added that Crist has a wealth of experience and knowledge from his work with the Antelope Valley Transit Authority and will be able to support strong economic growth in the region.
