Lancaster museum holds juried art exhibit
The All-Media Juried Art Exhibition, being held for the 40th year, is now open at the Lancaster Museum of Art and History (MOAH).
This annual exhibit highlights creative talent from the region around Antelope Valley and the 5th Supervisorial District of Los Angeles County.
The People’s Choice Awards competition enables visitors to cast their vote on their favorite artwork. Selected artists will be awarded over $1,000 in prizes. This prize money is made possible by community organizations, local businesses, generous sponsors, elected officials, and the Lancaster Museum and Public Art Foundation.
Poster printing can be used throughout a city to promote such exhibitions and their competitions.
The Creative Pollination Fellowship Award will also be given out this year. The artist who wins will be given funds to host their own Creative Pollination Workshop. The artist will work together with the staff of the MOAH to organize a presentation on their techniques or artwork and present it to the public. The jurors for this award include Stephanie Sherwood, a curator and artist based in Los Angeles; Samantha Herrerra, Curator of Exhibits at the Ontario Museum of History and Art; and Steven R. Calzada, an educator and artist.
The MOAH is at the corner of Elm Avenue and Lancaster Boulevard and is open from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm Tuesday through Sunday, with extended hours to 8:00 pm on Thursdays. This exhibit will run through Sunday, July 20.
