Five new ChargePoint electric vehicle chargers are now available at City Hall in Lancaster. Anyone in the city can use these chargers and there is no fee for the first hour of use.
Print shops can be used to create materials with more information about such chargers and the additional fees for using them.
This is part of an effort by the city to reinforce its continued drive toward energy efficiency. Mayor R. Rex Parris said that this is part of the final phase of the infrastructure expansion efforts of the city. These chargers now available at City Hall are part of the city’s efforts to support residents in adopting electric vehicles and its overall strategy of transportation electrification.
There are five designated stalls in the parking lot of City Hall for electric vehicles. The Antelope Valley Air Quality Management District (AVAQMD) provided a grant of $10,000 to fund the chargers.
Vice Mayor and Chairman of the Board of AVAQMD, Marvin Crist, said that the AVAQMD is committed to supporting programs that can reduce air pollution in the area. More and better electric vehicle charging locations throughout Lancaster encourages residents to use electric vehicles which have no emissions and can reduce the air pollution coming from vehicles.
