Foundation marks 40-year milestone with large donation

Recently, the Antelope Valley Hospital Foundation (AVHF) commemorated its 40-year anniversary of supporting the Antelope Valley’s only hospital offering full-service acute care by presenting a donation of almost $1m.

The latest pledge from the AVHF has been earmarked to purchase lights for surgery suites, as well as neurosurgery tables, orthopedic surgery tables, urology and shoulder surgeries, and gastrointestinal scopes for the Lancaster hospital.

The funds were raised primarily from two events held by the Foundation. The first was last year’s gala, ‘A Night at the Autry’, which was held at the Gene Autry museum. The second was the Foundation Golf Tournament held last May at the Robinson Ranch Golf Club.

A wide range of hospital services have benefited from the funds raised by the Foundation over the last five years. The $3.5m donated by the AVH Foundation has been used to support forensic services, neonatal intensive care, labor and delivery, pediatrics, radiology, critical care, home health, and respiratory services, among others. Nursing scholarships were also funded by the Foundation.

In all likelihood, poster printing services will soon be conferring with Foundation volunteers about advertising for the upcoming annual Foundation Gala, the proceeds from which will benefit the hospital’s pediatric program. The event will take place at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on September 19.
