Disney recently announced discounted tickets to its Anaheim theme parks for residents of Southern California.
For $149, a customer can go to either of Disney California Adventure and Disneyland twice, or make one visit to each, between now and May 26. Typically, the cost for two days at the same park or once at each park is $185. A one-day, one-park ticket costs $99 with an additional $56 charged for a guest to go to a second park on the same day.
The discount applies to residents from the Mexican border up to Lancaster within the ZIP codes of 90000 to 93599. Those who live in Northern Baja California in Mexico are also eligible. Residents in these areas may receive Flyers in the mail from Disney letting them know of the special rates.
Many large sections of the park will be closed as Disneyland will be undergoing major construction. A 14-acre Star Wars land in the northern part of Frontierland will be built and will necessitate the closing of the the ‘Fantasmic!’ light and fireworks show, Mark Twain Riverboat, the Disneyland Railroad, and several other attractions on the Rivers of America for more than a year.
However, the 60th anniversary of Disneyland will still be celebrated through September, and continuing through the summer will be ‘Season of the Force’, a Star Wars-themed overlay of Tomorrowland.
