What's Happening in Lancaster, CA…

The new High Desert Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center is now opened in Lancaster. The center is next to the High Desert Regional Health Center on East Avenue.

The center spans 9,900 square feet and is opened 24 hours a day seven days a week. Those who are 13 years of age and older and experiencing a psychiatric crisis can receive treatment at the center. There is a separate facility for six adolescents between the ages of 13 and 17 and urgent care accommodations of a psychiatric nature for up to 12 adults. Such new facilities often look to brochure printing to provide more details about services offered.

There is also a Crisis Walk-In Center for individuals to be evaluated and get medications in the short-term that is opened from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Dr. Kasey Marsh, administrator of the center, said this is designed so people can get immediate attention without a referral until they are able to find more log-term psychiatric care. The Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will also provide referrals to the center.

On the staff are counselors, clinicians, nurse practitioners and case managers for community-based resources to ensure the continuity of care. Clients typically will stay at the center between four to six hours although overnight stays will also be available.
