Summer concert series to feature Downey Symphony

Downey locals should note that the Twilight Summer Concert Series installment for August will feature music from the Downey Symphony.

The Twilight Summer Concert Series is also called the Downey Concerts Under the Stars and is hosted each summer by the City of Downey. Different bands and musical artists perform a couple of times each month, and the series showcases everything from marine marching bands and classical music to famous singer tributes. The month of August will focus on the Downey Symphony.

Founded in 1958, the Downey Symphonic Society has been led by a group of community-minded citizens who have dedicated their efforts to bring symphonic music to the Downey community. Music director Sharon Lavery’s extensive career in concert halls across the country has made her an obvious choice of conductor for the Downey Symphony. Attendees of the upcoming concert will enjoy talented renditions of contemporary classics and pure classical music as they lounge on the lawn of Furman Park.

Brochures can help organizers of concert events like this rely specific information, such as song and artist names, to attendees. Local printing services that specialize in brochure printing can be helpful in printing such materials.

The symphony event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 2 from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Furman Park is located at 10419 Rives Avenue. There is no cost to attend.
