Huge car show comes to California

The Grand National Roadster Show is coming to the Fairplex in Pomona, just a short distance from Downey, at the end of the month.

This is the 67th year for this large indoor car show. The theme for this year’s event is ‘Nifty 50s’ and vendors and car owners are encouraged to decorate their booths and their cars and with the theme.

Among the featured events is the Grand Daddy Drive-In. Inside all of the buildings in the Fairplex, more than 500 show vehicles will compete for awards. On the Saturday and Sunday during the event, another 400 to 800 cars parked between buildings will join the Drive-In for additional awards.

Building 9 will have an exhibit on The Quest for Speed by the Southern California Time Association, while Building 10 will offer live music both inside and outside for all three days of the show.

The show ends on Sunday with a luncheon where the Grand National Roadster Hall of Fame will induct four new members and an awards ceremony begins at 4:00 pm. Awards will be given to America’s Most Beautiful Motorcycle, America’s Most Beautiful Roadster, and many others for 2016.

The Grand National Roadster Show will be held from January 29 through January 31. Flyer printing may be used by organizers of the show to encourage car enthusiasts both locally and throughout the country to attend this annual event.
