Downey youth camp to teach film fundamentals

Downey parents with children interested in the world of acting and filmmaking should note that the Acting and Film Production Camp will be held for youth next month.

The Parks and Recreation Department of Downey will host the camp in collaboration with Kidz Talent Academy, which is an after-school program that provides dance, fitness, and drama activities for Southern Californian children. The Acting and Film Production Camp will be a four-day winter camp that will immerse campers in into the dynamic world of acting and moviemaking while also providing a fun, safe space to explore their creativity,

The campers will learn the fundamentals of both the acting profession and the film industry. Instructors from the Kidz Talent Academy will guide campers through theater terminology, script creation, memorizing lines, auditioning, on-camera acting, and a variety of behind-the-scenes roles. Participants will also get the chance to brainstorm, curate, and produce their own content, with a showcase happening at the end of the camp.

Camp workshops like this often make use of illustrative Posters to facilitate the learning process for campers. Local Print shops offering poster printing services can be of considerable help to organizers of such events.

The camp is scheduled for December 27 through December 30. It will be held at the Barbara J. Riley Community and Senior Center on 7810 Quill Drive. Tickets are $144.
