Next month, the Center for Military & Veteran Reintegration will hold the REBOOT Your Life Seminar in Downey to help veterans reintegrate into civilian life.
Newly opened last year in the Downey Public Library, the Center provides support and resources to military veterans as they undergo the reintegration process after completing their service. The community-led center offers services in wellness, employment, education, entrepreneurship, and family resources. The center also brings together the support of government entities, non-profits, private partners, and other veteran-serving organizations.
The REBOOT Your Life Seminar will provide veterans with the tools necessary to help them overcome the challenges of transitioning and learn how to translate behaviors and skills learned in military training to a civilian framework. Topics to be discussed include discovering one’s passions in life, transitioning from a military mindset to a self-directed one, finding community resources, discovering the right career fit, and monitoring progress using automated tracking tools. The seminar will include a continental breakfast and lunch.

The free veteran seminar is scheduled for Thursday, February 23 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Downey City Library can be found at 11121 Brookshire Avenue.
