In honor of Veteran’s Day, Camp Downey will hold a special edition of their one-day camp series for the children of Downey next month.
Camp Downey is a unique one-day camp initiative supported by the Downey Unified School District, which gives children ages 6 to 14 the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities, along with enrichment field trips that last one day. The one-day camps follow the district’s school calendar with these activities happening on school holidays. This way, children have the chance to spend time learning new things, participating in new activities, and making new friends.
The Veteran’s Day One-Day Camp will be a trip to the California Science Center. Regular camp hours will be from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Parents are welcome to add extended care hours of 7:00am to 9:00am and 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm for an additional $5. Camp T-Shirts will be on sale for $10. Organizers remind parents to send a packed lunch for their children.
