Downey families looking for some bonding activities this summer should note that next month, ScavengerHunt.com by Let's Roam will host the It’s a Scavenger Hunt! event for the community.
SavengerHunt.com by Let’s Roam is a tech company founded by brothers Charlie and Mike Harding, who wanted to help people have fun exploring and having adventures in their own cities. Their company organizes and hosts scavenger hunt events using mobile technology in over 200 cities across three continents.
The Downey event is an all-ages activity where players can form groups or play individually, and will require participants to have a mobile phone and data connection to play. People are welcomed to play individually or in groups. They will use their smartphones to explore their surroundings and fill their virtual scavenger sack with items that will appear one-by-one as the game master reveals them. Teams will be competing with one another for the opportunity to join the Hall of Fame.
Online game events like this will often include a graphic design team to help in the design and organization of the virtual event.
The Downey scavenger hunt will take place on Monday, August 1. Players can play at any time, but it is recommended to play during business hours to make it easier to locate items. Tickets are $24.95, which is the fee per team.
