Downey business event to highlight real estate strategies

Next month, real estate investors and other business professionals in Downey will be invited to attend the 1031 Exchange Lunch and Learn, a workshop exploring the area of 1031 exchanges in real estate.

These exchanges are a legal way for investors to defer taxes on their investment property sales for the purpose of freeing up cash to use to reinvest in new properties. Typically, the properties must be similar to each other and there are certain timelines involved in the selling of the old property and acquiring the new one.

The lunch and learn will feature Marcus Jaques of Exchange Resources, Inc., as a speaker. Topics to be covered include understanding the Baby Boomer wealth shift, how to build investor relationships, what the realtor's critical role is in transactions and negotiations, and how to defer capital gains taxes utilizing 1031 exchanges. After the Q&A, there will also be plenty of networking opportunities for attendees to engage in, bringing with them the opportunity to exchange Business Cards and contact information with potential clients or business partners.

The 1031 Exhange Lunch and Learn will take place on Monday, July 14 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. It will be held at The Greater DAOR Education Center, which can be found at 12069 Paramount Boulevard. There is no cost to attend.
