Downey parents should note that the Norwalk Town Square Kids Fun Zone will be happening in nearby Norwalk next month for the surrounding communities.
The Kids Fun Zone usually happens every second Saturday of the month as a free event series that encourages children to express, create, and learn through art, music, and movement. The art series was moved to virtual classes during the pandemic but has recently opened back up to in-person sessions. All art crafts are organized by Artsy Kids, a Los Angeles-based art school for children of all ages that teaches children core creative skills.
February’s session will revolve around clay art and a Picasso theme. Children will be experimenting with clay as an art medium and learning about Picasso’s art style to create Picasso-inspired clay sculptures of themselves. Clay as an art tool can help children learn and refine their tactical and fine motor skills. Artsy Kids will provide individual art supplies to each registered child.
Kid-friendly activities like this often include easy-to-understand instructional materials that can be efficiently printed by using local Print shops.
The Norwalk Town Square Kids Fun Zone is scheduled for February 12 from 11:00am to 2:00pm. The Norwalk Town Square is located at 11633 The Plaza, just a few miles from Downey. Those interested can register their child on Eventbrite.
