The MemorialCare Health System has recently been selected by the Boeing Company as a health plan option that can be customized for its employees and their families in the South Bay, Orange County, and Long Beach communities, in which Downey is located.
This new health plan option will be added to the open enrollment that Boeing has in the fall, and will be made available beginning on January 1, 2017. The focus of the plan is to keep people healthy and preventative care using diagnoses and treatments to identify and treat underlying health problems before they become chronic conditions, evidence-based prevention, and best practices.
Boeing expects that this plan will also be a more affordable option for its employees. Some of the lower costs will include 100 percent coverage for prescriptions for generic drugs, lower paycheck deductions for the coverage, and no copayments for office visits for network primary care physicians.
MemorialCare pioneered their value-added approach many years ago and is the reason Boeing selected the system and its partners for its employees in addition to its reputation for high quality of care and their extensive physician, hospital and community outpatient center network.
Boeing might consider creating Brochures on the many features of the new and healthcare providers in the Downey area so that employees can make informed decisions about their healthcare options come the fall.
