Annual golf tournament returns to Downey

The Illuminated Engineering Society Lost Angels Section (IESLA) will proceed with its 24th Annual Golf Tournament in Downey this fall.

Since 1996, this yearly golf tournament serves as a way for professionals who work in the lighting industry to socialize while raising money for the IESLA Student Education Fund. The Fund in turn helps to fund the Russell Cole Memorial Lighting Design Competition and the Saul M. Goldin Memorial Internship.

To participate in the event, Downey residents have the opportunity to register online at $75 per individual or $300 for a team of four. For those who prefer to mail in printed registration to the IESLA, a .pdf template is available. Individuals who use physical registration Forms for events often use printing services to create high quality documents.

Those who wish to support the IESLA Student Education Fund whether or not they attend can choose from sponsorship options that range between $10 to $1,000.

The registration costs include box lunches for each player. Everyone who registers is encouraged to show up 20 minutes before their tee times. Everyone who registers will receive their respective tee time a couple days prior to the tournament.

The 2020 IESLA Golf Tournament is scheduled to take place at the Rio Hondo Golf Course on Friday, October 9 beginning at 9:00 am.
