Shredding sensitive personal documents is an important step in household security. This weekend, Clovis residents will be able to take advantage of an initiative that will help them do this.
The free Shredfest event being hosted at the Clovis Rodeo Grounds is being brought to the community through the efforts of the city’s Police Department. When people stop by to drop off their items for disposal, they will also be able to pick up an assortment of Promotional Products they may use to help them prevent ID theft.
This activity, which is only open to households, will give the public a chance to have up to eight banker-style Boxes or equivalent sized Bags of materials shredded. Donations will also be accepted for the service, and these will be passed along to help fund local school programming. Business will not be accommodated at this function.
The offering has been made available thanks to the generosity of its sponsors. These include the Clovis Rodeo, the Better Business Bureau, CBS 47, and the City itself. It will run throughout the morning or until the truck is filled.
This opportunity for community members to ensure their personal information is secure will be on offer this Saturday, May 20, beginning at 9:00 am. It was originally planned for last Saturday, May 13, but had to be rescheduled.
