Stramler Park holds festival for kids
Bakersfield’s Stramler Park will be the location of Bakersfield KidsFest 2023, coming in mid-May.
The event will be four hours of baby, toddler, child, and tween activities, games, and attractions. Some activities will be water-themed, such as the six water slides, and a dual lane slip-n-slide. Others will be sports-related, such as the 73-foot obstacle course, giant soccer darts, basketball challenge, and a world champion sports area with six games. There will also be face painting, a Funland Express Train, balloon artists, crafts, and dancing. DJ Wreck will provide the music.
The Little Tykes corner will feature three bounce houses resembling a carousel, pirate ship and giant Ferris wheel.
Food vendors will be selling burritos, tacos, chicken strips, burgers, hot dogs, pizza, and BBQ, along with summer treats such as cotton candy, funnel cakes and ice cream, and drinks like slushies, lemonade, and root beer floats.
Parents and childcare givers can meander through the family resource area learning about aspects of raising healthy happy kids.
Resource agencies usually bring business cards when attending events like this.
General admission tickets are $5, and $10 wristbands give access to unlimited activities and attractions. Family Packs of four general admission tickets, plus two attraction wristbands, are available online for $32. Kids under three will get in for free.
