What's Happening in Bakersfield, CA…

Annual holiday parade returns to Bakersfield this December

The Bakersfield Civic Association has already begun to prepare for an annual Christmas parade taking place in early December intended to raise funds for the community.

This annual event has become a local tradition, and it will be broadcast on many Bakersfield television stations live.

The Bakersfield Christmas Parade is now in its 43rd year. Organizers will be focusing on family-oriented themes for this year's celebration, and many businesses have already confirmed that they will be actively participating. Bakersfield vendors hoping to join the parade will need to complete an online application, or to submit a physical entry to KUZZ news studios. Casual onlookers can also become sponsors by completing a contact form found on the official BC Parade website.

Organizers claim that up to 10,000 residents will be attending this year's celebration, and the parade is open to all age groups.

Public events that double as fundraising opportunities will use proven marketing techniques to keep attendees informed. Banner printing and distributing flyers are two common examples.

The 2025 Bakersfield Christmas Parade is taking place on Thursday, December 4 and downtown Bakersfield streets will close at 4:00 PM. The parade will commence on the corner of 22nd and L Street, continue through downtown, and conclude at 20th and N Street. Spectators can observe the festivities for free. Vendors who wish to participate should contact KGET TV for additional information, and to learn about different sponsorship tiers.
