Runners gear up for annual Bakersfield marathon

Bakersfield has already begun preparing for this year's 2026 St. Patrick's Day half marathon. Similar to previous years’ races, organizers expect to enjoy a solid turnout, and runners of all skill levels are encouraged to participate.

The Bakersfield St. Patrick's Day 5K has come to represent a tradition enabling residents to enjoy the great outdoors with one another. Those who plan on attending are also encouraged to wear festive clothing that reflects the holiday itself. Although open to all runners, those who finish in the top three places will win surprise gifts, the details of which will be confirmed after the race has concluded.

This competition is the result of a joint collaboration between The City of Bakersfield Parks and Recreation Department, and the Bakersfield School of Sciences and Education. Marathon organizers have always relied on traditional advertising methods to market their services, including flyer printing, creating large banner advertisements, and placing informational Brochures throughout locations frequented by the public.

The Bakersfield St. Patrick's Day 5K race is being held on Saturday, March 14. The event is scheduled to begin at 8:00 AM, and it should conclude by 10:00 AM. Registration costs $32.80 per person. The Park at Riverwalk located at 11292 Stockdale Highway will be hosting this event. Those who wish to compete should arrive at least 30 minutes in advance.
