The Roman Spartan Festival is coming to Bakersfield in July. This event will be sure to have something for everyone and will provide entertainment and authenticity to those who attend.
Event organizers have
likely been working hard to promote the event, possibly through the distribution of Flyers and displaying of Posters at local businesses. The event encourages attendees to come dressed in costume to represent the theme of the event. There will be several categories where those in costume can compete for prizes.
The event is especially a treat for athletic and competitive attendees. There will be various opportunities for attendees to flex their muscles and compete against each other with challenges including arm wrestling, strength contests, bow and arrow shoot, tug of war, spear throwing and a rock wall challenge.
In addition to the costume contests and the sporting challenges, the event will provide live entertainment throughout the day including athletic competitions and live music. Vendors will be on site providing authentic foods, crafts and jewelry, all of which is available for those attending to purchase.
Costumes, shields and plastic or rubber swords are allowed to be worn by attendees. No metal swords or spears are allowed. The event will be held on Saturday July 2nd at the Kern County Fairgrounds. Admission is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for Children ages five and older. There is a $5.00 entry fee to enter the costume contests.
