California State University Bakersfield Athletics will be holding its 49th annual CSUB Athletics Spring Barbeque in early May.
This year's event will be presented by Bill Wright Toyota, Valley Strong Credit Union and North Bakersfield Toyota. The event will offer an opportunity for the Kern County community to meet CSUB on campus and enjoy each other's company while raising funds for scholarships.
All proceeds from the barbeque will go toward the Roadrunner Scholarship Fund that provides more than 300 CSUB student-athletes with competitive and educational opportunities.
The evening will include dinner with teriyaki chicken, New York Steak or Vegetarian dish. Wine and beer options will be available for purchase. A hot dog kid's meal will be available for children. For dessert, Marie Calendar will provide complimentary pie and ice cream.
A silent auction will also have items that have been donated by Bakersfield merchants.
Merchants that donate items to events such as this usually put their Logo Design somewhere on the donation.
Mento Buru, a popular band here in Bakersfield, will be providing the music during dinner.
Pre-order tickets are available online with general public tickets for $40, Kid's meal ones for $10, Alumni and employees $30, and students $20.
The 49th annual CSUB Spring Barbeque will take place May 2nd at the SCUB Icardo Center, Hillman Aquatic Center from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm.
