Local establishment seeking volunteers for annual Holiday Lights event

The California Living Museum (CALM) in Bakersfield is currently seeking volunteers to help support their HolidayLights activities. The event, which runs for over a month, needs 30 volunteers per night to support visitors coming to view the holiday light displays.

This annual display attracts thousands of visitors who come to view the holiday lights, which consist of over 75 displays with more than three million lights. Proceeds from the event help with upkeep and improvements around the zoo. The event features not only the light displays but also entertainment, including train rides and a merry-go-round for all ages.

Local businesses are asked to support the event by providing 30 employees to work as a group on the same evening. Businesses participating in the evening of volunteerism are able to set up an information table on the evening they volunteer. Businesses can use this opportunity to provide Promotional Products, Flyers, or Brochures announcing their products and services.

Individuals are also welcome to volunteer, but must meet the minimum age requirement of seventeen. Anyone who volunteers during the event is given an admission ticket to HolidayLights, with one for each full night worked.

The event runs from November 25 through December 31, with the exception of Christmas Day. The zoo is open from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm each evening and admission prices vary from $6 to $12 depending on the age of the attendees. The zoo is located at 10500 Alfred Harrell Highway.
