Community gives back with three charity events

The Bakersfield community will have three fundraising options in July – Bee Day, Pink and Blue Gala, and Christmas in July 5K.

Christmas in July will be a 5K fun family-friendly run/walk to raise money for Orlie’s Shoe Drive. Money raised at the event will go toward new tennis shoes for Kern County’s economically disadvantaged children. The venue will also have food trucks, local vendors, and family activities.

Christmas in July will take place at 2200 Olive Drive from 9:00 am to noon on Friday, July 15. Registration for the 5K will be $20.

Bee Day, a fundraiser mixer, will have keynote speaker Holly Kuntz speaking about the day, where events have been organized to provide support for agricultural education through interacting with local farmers. Its mission is to help Kern County youth learn to love agriculture. Tickets will be $50.

The Bee Day fundraiser is planned for Saturday, July 16 from 8:30 am to 11:30 am at Brooks Brothers Interiors, 2821 Brundage Lane.

Finally, Magdalene Hope’s Freedom Assistance League will hold its annual Pink & Blue Gala on Thursday, July 21 from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm. Proceeds will go to Restoration Ranch Women’s Shelter.

Sponsorships are available at the levels ranging from $500 to $5,000. Sponsors need to get their Logo Design and information to the organizers as soon as possible.

The event will take place at Stockdale Country Club.
