Christmas activities in Bakersfield began this weekend with the annual Holiday Lamplight Tours at the Kern County Museum, 3801 Chester Avenue.
From 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm on Saturday, December 1, participants could enjoy an evening of holiday cheer vintage style. Victorian costumed actors entertaining spectators through caroling, selling holiday gifts, and entertaining at a Victorian tea. A wine garden was featured in the 1928 Chamber of Commerce building at the event was only $5 to attend for museum members and children.
Yesterday, holiday lights at CALM lit up the night with over two million lights in 50 displays. The display at 10500 Alfred Harrel Highway will be open 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm up until January 1, 2013. Admission is $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and youth, and $6 for children aged 3 – 12. For information, call (661) 872-2256.
Directions to holiday light displays and events like this can easily be copied at a printing company for distribution to local communities – something that may boost attendance as New Year’s Day approaches.
As well as this, Over 3,000 nativities from over 40 countries will be on display at Christmas Around the World through December 29 at Timeless Furnishings, 918 Chester Avenue. In addition, there will be displays of antique Bibles, gingerbread houses, nutcrackers, Christmas trees, and Santas. There will even be chocolate nativities.
The event will be open from 11:00 am – 7:00 pm Monday to Saturday. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for children. Tickets for a family of four are only $20. Call (661) 326-0222 to discover more.
