As 2013 swings in, there are three upcoming baseball tournaments scheduled for baseball fans.

First up, the Bakersfield Bullets will host a bash at 4:00 pm on January 13. This event costs $275 plus two balls. The event will play host to divisions 8U – 12U. A snack bar will be available for refreshments. For more information, call Greg at (661) 703-6529.

After that, the 2nd annual Bakersfield Southwest Baseball (BSWB) Jr. Arthritis Tourney will be used to raise funds for the Jr. Arthritis Foundation. Raised funds will be donated in the name of one of the local walk teams. Aera Baseball Field is located on Stockdale Highway and Jewetta Avenue.

Taking place January 19 – 20, the entry fee is $450 a team and $100 will be donated to the foundation. Divisions include 9U – 16U. There is a minimum of three games and balls are included in the fee. Food is available at the concession stand. Over 2,000 children play each spring in the nonprofit BSWB’s spring season.

Strike three will be the 5th annual MLK Xtreme Tournament, to be held at the Sam Lynn Ball Park, 4400 Chester Avenue, Bakersfield.

Games will also be held on Saturday, January 19 and Sunday, January 20. There will be food vendors onsite, as well as a photographer and a viewing booth. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Bakersfield Xtreme Coooperstown trip.
