For those runners here in Bakersfield ready to get outside and enjoy spring weather, there are three races scheduled for March.
The first one, the Donut Run, sponsored by Krispy Kreme is scheduled for Sunday, March 8. Participants will have the option of running in a timed 5K or walking in a non-timed 2K. Both events will start at 9:00 am.
Donut holes will be available along the course. Each finisher will receive a 2020 medallion, which has a running donut suspended from a ribbon and all participants will receive T-Shirts sporting the event’s graphic design. Unlimited donuts will await the participants as they cross the finish line. The Donut Run will take place at the Park at River Walk, 11298 Stockdale Highway.
On Saturday, March 14, the 9th Annual St. Patrick’s Day 5k will have runners dressed in green competing in both run time and best/most green Apparel contest. Winners of the costume contest will win prizes. Top three finishers in each age division will win shamrock medals. This run will also be at the Park at River Walk and starts at 8:30 am.
The next Saturday, March 21, the 1970s-themed Building Bridges Super ‘70s 5K and 10K Fun Run will begin at 8:00 am at 10500 Alfred Harrell Highway.
