Bakersfield festivals during October will include a 5K, business expo, and donuts.
Over 800 participants are expected at the 5th Annual Kern Cancer Run/Walk and Festival 2019 that will be at Yokuts Park, 1624 Oak Street, from 7:30 am until 11:00 am next Saturday, October 12.
The vendors and cancer survivor fellowship will begin at 7:30 am, a warm-up and welcome at 7:45 am, The Survivor Start at 8:00 am, and the timed start will begin at 8:15 am. A Children’s Jog-a-thon is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am. The Mascot run begins at 9:30 and A Walk in Her Shoes starts at 10:00 am. The proceeds from this fundraiser will go to local cancer programs.
The Bakersfield’s Food Truck Festival and Business Expo will also take place on the same day at the Kern county Fairgrounds, 1142 South P Street from noon until 5:00 pm. The event will have about 100 business vendors and merchants passing out Business Cards and selling merchandise, and offering plenty of food. There will also be raffles, prizes, and live entertainment.
Donut lovers will be at the Donut Fest Bakersfield on October 13 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Temblor Brewing Company, 3200 Buck Owen Boulevard. Tickets will include a donut sample from each vendor, drinks, and photos. There will be donut-eating contests and opportunities to purchase more donuts and swag.
