Runners here in Bakersfield will be lacing their sneakers and heading to the Hanukkah 8 Krazy Kilometers and 2K Latke Loop in mid-December.
The venue will feature vendors, costume contest and music along with an in-person 8K and a 2K race.
The in-person course will take runners and walkers along scenic trails beside Kern River, and proceeds from the run will go to protecting, restoring, and preserving the Kern River wildlife and riparian habitat.
Registration will be $40 for the 8K and $35 for the 2K. Team members of three or more will each get a $3 discount for the 8K and $2 discount for the 2K. Registration will close on December 15th at noon.
Race shirts sporting this year’s event graphic design, Hanukkah swag, and custom finisher medals will be mailed out to participants. Runners will also receive refreshments, water, and be entered into a raffle. T-Shirts will be guaranteed to those who register before November 26th.
Top finishers in the 8K will receive awards, and prizes will also be awarded to one Holiday, one Hanukkah and one team costume winner. The largest team will also get a prize.
Raffle prizes will include gift cards, baskets, a holiday spa package worth $695, a diamond heart necklace, and a rock-climbing wall party worth $250.
