Bakersfield to celebrate summer with a touch of soul

Fans of music are gearing up for a hot Bakersfield summer, and there are plenty of open-air events to enjoy. One relatively recent addition set to make its return is the Second Annual R&B/Old School Boots on the Ground Soul Festival.

This event intends to showcase local talent while simultaneously paying tribute to well-known performers. Promising to offer a "chill vibe" to attendees, the Old School Boots on the Ground Soul Festival hopes to attract young adults who are fans of classic rhythm and blues.

Five DJs will be present, and a live performance is slated to pay tribute to the late Luther Vandross. Advertising methods such as brochure printing is among the ways event organizers can promote festivals such as this one.

While primarily known for its selection of music, there are several other attractions that visitors can access. These include on-site food vendors, a public barbecue, a VIP raffle, and a full bar. The Old School Boots on the Ground Soul Festival is being hosted by artist and radio presenter Jovon Dangerfield. The event will begin at 7 PM, and it will last until approximately midnight.

The Old School Boots on the Ground Soul Festival will be taking place on August 30 at Moga City, which can be found at 3510 Wible Road in Bakersfield. Those who wish to purchase tickets are encouraged to visit vendors such as Eventbrite or the event’s official Facebook page.
