At least two charity events have been planned for Bakersfield in order to raise funds for this year's Toys-for-Tots.
The first will be a Rock & Wings Toys-for-Tots. The outdoor stage will have three live bands, and members of the military and local celebrities will be seeing who can eat 15 wings in five minutes in the Hot Wings Eating Competitions. Everyone is asked to bring unwrapped new toys to be donated.
Toys for Tots at Rock & Wings East Side will take place Saturday, December 14th from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm at 2858 Niles Street.
The 6th Annual Jingle Bell Run for Toys for Tots will have Christmas medallions, Christmas-themed sweatshirts, jingle bells and Santa hats for those donating unwrapped new toys or funds for the Toys-for-Tots toy drive.
Christmas music, snowflakes, and Christmas goodies await runners at the finish line.
Registration for the 5k run/walk and the 1-mile walk is $44.15 each. Kids under 10 years old can register for $25.
Race packets will be available from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Friday December 20th at Sole to Soul, 9000 Ming Avenue or at the event beginning at 8:00 am.
Event organizers often take pictures from events such as this to local Print shops to use in their holiday advertising.
The Bakersfield Jingle Bell Run for Toys for Tots will take place Saturday, December 21st at The Park at River Walk at 9:00 am.
