All local runners and walkers that need a delicious incentive to get out and participate in a spring run can enjoy the Bakersfield Run for Donuts 5K and 2-mile race/walk coming in early March.
Krispy Kreme has teamed with Bakersfield Classic Events to present the run. All-you-can-eat donuts will be waiting at the finish line of the 5K timed race. There will be donut holes available along the route for those opting for the 2-mile non-timed distance. Awards will go to the largest participating group and to the best costume.
Registration for both distances will be $30 each race and registration can be done online. Kids under nine years old can run for $25.
Swag will include T-Shirts sporting this year’s donut graphic design, finisher medals and ribbons, and hot chocolate to go with all those donuts.
Water stations will be at designated locations along the 5K course.
Packets can be picked up on Saturday, March 6 at Sole 2 Soul Bakersfield, 9000 Ming Avenue between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm and at the event on race day starting at 8:00 am. Local vendors have been invited to purchase booths at the finish line.
All donations will go directly to the OSU Bakersfield Roadrunner Scholarship Fund. The scholarships go to local deserving student athletes.
