The upcoming Concerts by the Fountain music series will consist of 13 free programs presented weekly throughout June, July, and August.
June will have four programs starting with Bakersfield’s own Foster Campbell & Friends. This will be an evening of rhythm & blues and high energy Motown done with a professional sound system and light show. At the next performance everyone will want to wear their dancing shoes as Last Call will be blasting out old favorites. That group will be followed a week later by Orphan Jon and the Abandoned playing American roots and blues. The final band in June will be the Jan Smith Group – a contemporary Jazz Fusion band.
July will keep the momentum rolling as Lost Vinyl, an R&B and Classic Rock group, will start the month. Warfield will follow with classic rock and The Aviators will succeed them with more rock and roll. The last performance will be dance outfit the John Hollins Band with everything from country to rhythm and blues.
August will feature classic soul, R&B, original soul folk, classic rock and blues. The series will end with another of our own Mento Buru presenting salsa, funk, rock, and Jamaican ska.

The 2018 Concerts by the Fountain will take place from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm every Thursday, starting with June 7, at the Marketplace Bakersfield, 9000 Ming Avenue.
