Bakersfield runners will have fun in the mud when they participate in the Mud Factor 5k Obstacle Run coming toward the end of April.
The 5k will have eight obstacles along the course. These mud-infused challenges will include a water slide, wall climb, halfway house, the enternet, mega climb, wire crawl, and cargo climb.
The event will be divided into 5k adult waves for participants 14 and up, and 3k Kidz Family Mud Run waves for kids ages 4 to 13.
The same obstacles will be in each race; the kids' race is just shorter. Parents may run with their kids but must purchase their own tickets.
The Adult Waves begin at 11:15 and the last one will begin at noon. Adult waves will cost $75. KidZ Family waves cost $65 and run in 15-minute intervals beginning at 10:00 am. Spectator passes will be $10, will allow access to the starting line only and must be paid in cash at the venue.
Family members who do not run, occasionally get a little banner printing done beforehand to support their members who do participate.
Swag for both races will be runner bibs, Mud Factor bandanas, finisher medals, and temporary tattoos.
The 2025 Mud Factor Bakersfield will be on April 26th at Kern County Raceway Park MX, 13500 Raceway Boulevard.
