Bakersfield goes all out for Halloween

Bakersfield will be offering many events with a spooky and artistic twist during October.

First up, a Witchy Night Paint Night has been scheduled from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm for Thursday, October 10 at Grumpy's Brewing Co. 4205 Resnik Court. Registration will be $30. Proud artists often take photos of their artwork to local Print shops to be included in family newsletters.

On Friday, October 11, a free Spooky Street Fair will offer live music by local bands, a costume contest, trick-or-treating, and more than 100 vendors selling Halloween-type crafts and goods. This event will take place from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm at 1438 19th Street and Chester Avenue.

From 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 19, Jerry's Pizza and Pub at 1817 Chester Avenue will have its Pizza and Pumpkins event. Guests are to bring their own pumpkins and use the supplies provided to create jack-o-lanterns for the pumpkin carving contest. Drink and pizza specials will be available for purchase.

Jerry's Pizza and Pub will also host a Spooky Forest Paint night on Wednesday, October 16 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. All materials will be included with the $30 registration fee.

Finally, the historic Bakersfield Fox Theater, 2001 H Street will be having Cults and Classics: Halloween on Monday, October 28. This will be a showing of the classic movie “Halloween” from 1978, with the screening starting at 7:00 pm.
