Village Fest’s 25th Anniversary will be coming to Bakersfield the first weekend in September.
The 16-acre event will be sectioned off into seven themed areas, including the Village Lawn, Big KahunaVille, MicroBrews Alley, Vino Village and Club VIP. Thirty Bakersfield restaurants will be giving out free food samples. Over 60 regional breweries and more than 25 wineries will be vending over 70 wines. Tickets will come with 15 drink samples along with the unlimited food.
The club VIP area will be reserved for the event sponsors. The food will be catered and accompanied with brews, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks.
A Village Sports tent will feature various sporting events on large TVs and guests can eat, drink and watch the games.
The event will have 15 bands on thr Vino Village, Microblues, Kahunaville, Craft Brew and Village Lawn stages. Among the performers are Lawanda Smith, Mento Buru, Truxton Mile, and Foster Campbell and Friends. The VIP area will feature Tony O’Brien and Wilson Mackey, DJ Phantom Stranger will man the Front entrance, and the Pan-O-Rama Steel Drum Band will play at the Main Entrance.
Proceeds will go to benefit the Kids’ Of Kern County children’s charities, and there will be event T-Shirts featuring the event Logo Design available for purchase.
Village Fest will be Saturday, September 7 from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm at Kern Pioneer Village, 3801 Chester Drive.
