Gilbert dogs and their owners are invited to two Friends For Life Animal Rescue fundraisers coming in September and October.
Water Day at Friends for Life will have dogs and their owners splashing around on splash pads and kiddie pools. Refreshments will include popsicles for the people and pupsicles (frozen yogurt, banana, peanut butter on dog treats, celery, or carrot sticks) for the dogs. For souvenirs, dogs can make Dogvinci Paw Paintings.
Water Day will take place at Friends for Life, 952 W Melody Avenue from 7:00 am to 9:00 am on Saturday, September 9. Admission will be $5 per dog.
October’s fundraiser will be the 25th Annual BARKtoberfest, a street fair festival in front of the Friends for Life Animal Rescue adoption center.
The venue will offer animal-themed vendor booths, food trucks, and agility courses. Kids’ activities will include trick-or-treating at booths and creating DogVinci paintings with furry friends. Many owners will take advantage of the dog wash and get their buddies spritzed, and everyone can join in contests such as Canine Idol, best costume, and best trick. Raffles will offer dozens of prizes.
Dogs adopted through Friends of Life are invited to participate in the alumni parade. Pictures from fundraisers like these often go to Print shops to get added to the organization’s newsletters.
The 25th Annual BARKtoberfest will be held Saturday, October 21 at the adoption center. Admission will be free.
