November is here and that means Gilbert Days are just around the corner. Locals can take part in runs, see the parade, go on rides, and enjoy the music with their neighbors.
Gilbert’s traditional parade will once again be featuring local businesses, schools, special interest groups, and nonprofit organizations. Participating groups are sure to want to get their banner printing done as soon as possible.
Soft candy will be thrown into the crowd along the route. Some tips from the parade organizers include dressing according to the weather (which is usually pretty mild in November), and above all else be sure to don comfortable footwear.
Activities will include inflatables, rides, and contests. Vendors will be selling the likes of fry bread, kettle corn, and hot dogs. Live entertainment will be presented on three stages.
Gilbert Days will be held November 22, and a half marathon will start at 7:30 am at Warner Road and Gilbert. The 13.1-mile run goes through San Tan Village and ends at the Civic Center.
A 10k run will start at 8:00 am at Crossroads Park, and the parade gets going at 9:00 am at Gilbert Road and will run south between Guadalupe Road and Elliot Road. The rain date will be December 6. The Festival will be held at the Gilbert Civic Center and will run from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
