Riparian Preserve holds 4th race in Sunrise Series

Many Gilbert runners are participating in the 9th Annual Arizona Sunrise Series 5k races and have completed the first couple of events. Many will turn out for the one coming to Riparian Preserve in mid-August.

Registration for the in-person race is $35 through July 31, $40 from August 1 through 12, and $50 on race day. Virtual participation is also available for $30 through the end of July, and $35 from August 1 to 12.

Swag includes custom medals, red Dri-Fit short-sleeved, sleeveless shirts, or razorback tank tops featuring the 2022 Sunrise Series Arizona graphic design. Runners will also receive medal add-ons for each race they complete. A runner’s brunch of fruit, water, granola bars, and Gatorade will be available before and after the race. Real time and chip time will be made available on the event website and mobile apps. Awards will go to the top three finishers in 16 age categories.

Registration will open from 5:45 am to 6:20 am and runners may begin their races anytime during that timeframe. A traditional mass start will be at 6:30 am. Awards will be distributed starting at 7:30 am.

Profits from the races will go to St. Mary’s Food Bank, an organization that supports food pantries, children’s feeding programs, and a community kitchen in 13 Arizona counties.

Arizona Sunrise Series at Riparian Preserve will take place at Water Ranch, East Guadalupe Road on Saturday, August 13.
