Gilbert’s Global Village, a free multicultural festival, will take place towards the end of March.
Applications are being taken for performances on the World and Trevi Fountain stages. Each performance will be between 20 to 30 minutes and is chosen for ethnic representation. The Gilbert Special Events Staff is looking for vocal, instrumental, storytelling, dance, spoken word, martial arts, and theater entertainment.
Food vendors for the Taste of Nations will be selected from those selling cultural-themed food and drink items. Other criteria include booth presentation, prior participation, and quality of product offering and price. Food trucks will be charged $175 and 10’ by 10’ booths can be rented for $125, and there is a charge of $75 for local churches.
Retailers can rent 10’ by 10’ booths for $100. Many will also be getting some flyer printing done and may update their Business Cards before the event. This section of the festival will offer a World Market where artwork, Apparel, and gifts will be available for purchase.
At the festival, attendees may also enjoy a jaunt around Explore-A-Nation. Various booths in that area will have cultural activities designed for both kids and adults.
Gilbert Global Village Festival will be Saturday, March 25, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and Sunday, March 26, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Gilbert Heritage District.
