Anyone in Gilbert wanting to celebrate the 4th of July this year will have many options.
Hosted by the Town of Gilbert, Gilbert’s free Independence Day celebration will be at Higley High School, 4068 E. Pecos Road, again this year. Everyone is invited to bring lawn games, chairs and blankets and enjoy family, friends and food from food trucks. The event opens at 6:00 pm, fireworks will start at 8:30 pm, and things will wind down around 9:00 pm.
Families will be turning out for Chandler’s July 4th Fireworks Spectacular. Many family-centered activities are being planned and the venue will feature live music and vendors hawking food and beverages. Chandler will hold its 4th of July event at Tumbleweed Ranch Park, 2250 S. McQueen Road from 6:00 until 9:30 pm.
Arizona Celebration of Freedom at the Mesa Amphitheatre, 263 N. Center Street will have tail-gate-type games in front of Stage America. The entertainment lineup there will include The Hamptons, Shallow Water and Salute to America before fireworks at 9:30 pm.
The Stars & Stripes Stage will feature Will from Brazil, Sophie Dorsten, Troubleman and Autoplot.
A Patriotic Superhero Stunt Show, three battle re-enactments, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary band performances, Kids’ and Splash Zones, Laser Light Show, and A Patriotic Military showcase will also be part of the event.
Many families wear colorful T-Shirts with the family’s crest or other graphic design to keep track of the kids.
