Hispanic celebration starts Gilberts Thursday night series
Four events are scheduled for Harvest in the Heritage Family Nights, all coming on Thursdays in October.
To commemorate Hispanic Heritage month (running from mid-September to mid-October) here in Gilbert, Legacy Traditional Schools and Felix Construction will be presenting iViva, a Celebration of Hispanic Heritage in early October.
Created to celebrate both Latino and Hispanic American culture, the free two-hour family-friendly event will be filled with cultural and musical performances.
Entertainment will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on the main stage. Food vendors will be selling authentic Latin American delights such as horchata (plant-based drink), aguas frescas (fruit drinks), and empanadas. Local Latino and Hispanic businesses will be selling authentic pottery, accessories, stickers, paintings, apparel, and prints.
Vendors at events such as this often get some custom business card printing arranged beforehand. These brightly printed business cards – usually printed in both English and Spanish – are then tucked in with purchases.
Please note that there will be no ATMs onsite, and vendors will be accepting cash and card payments.
iViva will take place Thursday, October 3 from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm in the Gilbert Heritage District north of Barrio Queen, 388 N Gilbert Road.
The Heritage District will also have a concert on October 10, a variety show scheduled for October 17, and a magic show on October 24 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The lineup for these events will be announced soon.
