Dignity Health is once again presenting its free Spring Downtown Concert Series. Four bands are scheduled to perform over the next two months.
The first one will be in a couple of weeks and will be the Booyaband. This five-member ensemble plays country, blues and rocks and hails from East Valley. A couple of Thursdays later a Phoenix’s band Traveler with World Fusion Music will perform with the I Am Family Choir, a group from Uganda.
Early in April the series will present Vinyl Nova playing rock, retro and roots. Some of the band’s repertoire will be hits made great by the Beatles, the Grateful Dead, Johnny Cash and Buddy Holly. Later in the month, the Hoodoo Casters will be the evening’s entertainment. This group specializes in Chicago Blues, Swamp, Boogie, a little Americana and Mississippi Hill Country Swing. It covers songs from CCR, Johnny Cash, Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters and Lynard Skynard. Fans may want to check with the groups to see if they have any Promotional Products for sale.
Guests are invited to bring their own food and beverages, and there will be food trucks on site as well.
Everyone is encouraged to bring blankets and chairs and arrive early to get a good spot on the lawn.
The Spring Downtown 2018 Concerts will be held at Water Tower Plaza in Gilbert’s Heritage District. They will take place 6:30 until 8:30 pm Thursdays March 15th, 29th and April 12th and 26th.
