Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Medical Center will be sponsoring the 2015 Gilbert Global Village Festival. The mission of the festival is to present opportunities for the public to celebrate and support the arts by experiencing traditions of world cultures. As has been the case in the past 10 years, the event will be free.
Local schools, members of the community, service organizations, and nonprofits will be participating in introducing the community to contemporary and traditional music, dance, food, arts, and crafts from around the world. Banner printing will no doubt be carried out beforehand.
Children will get to experience activities enjoyed by their counterparts in other parts of the world. The International Bazaar will feature a marketplace at which attendees can buy ethnic products from around the world. Various organizations will hold demonstrations of other countries’ musical instruments, flags, jewelry, Books, and costumes.
The Taste-a-Nation area will have food from all over the world for purchase, while the Explore-a-Nation area will allow participants to enjoy hands-on activities that explore holidays, games, crafts, and other aspects of cultures. In the Creation Nation area, everyone can try their skills at traditional art and crafts from other cultures.
The festival is scheduled for April 11, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, at the Gilbert Civic Center North Campus at the intersection of Gilbert and Warner Roads. Children will be able to participate in the Parade of Nations at 3:00 pm.Get a Free Quote for Books
